Digitization Equipment
 | Epson Expression 11000XLThe majority of the digitization that is done in the LSU Libraries Digitization Lab is done with Epson Expression 11000XL flatbed scanners. This scanner will accomodate items up to 12.2" x 17.2" and can produce images with a resolution of up to 2400 pixels per inch. This high resolution allows us to capture small images in a way that allows for clear reproduction at much larger sizes. In addition to capturing reflective surfaces such as letters and photographic prints, the 11000XL's transparency adapters allow us to scan film, slides and glass plate negatives. |
 | Zeutschel OS 12000 A1The Zeutschel OS 12000 A1 has a scan area of 33.3" x 23.6", allowing for easy scanning of oversized items at a resolution of up to 600 pixels per inch. The book cradle and glass plate make this scanner the perfect choice for scanning rare or fragile books. |
 | Nextscan Eclipse Microfilm ScannerThe Nextscan Eclipse is capable of scanning an entire reel of 35mm or 16mm film in just a few minutes. The accompanying software allows for individual frame detection and minor editing of scans before creation of individual files from each frame. |
 | Plustek 8200iThe Plustek 8200i is a slide scanner with a resolution of up to 7200 pixels per inch, creating incredibly detailed, high resolution images from photographic slides. |
