Interlibrary Loan can provide electronic journal articles and book chapters. View this one-minute video to learn how to place Interlibrary Loan requests. Make sure that your user status in Interlibrary Loan is either Graduate - LSU Online or Undergraduate - LSU Online. Use your Interlibrary Loan account for this service. 

Requesting Books

If you want to borrow a physical book, request the item through your Interlibrary Loan account. View this one-minute video to learn how to place Interlibrary Loan requests. Make sure that your user status in Interlibrary Loan is either Graduate - LSU Online or Undergraduate - LSU Online. We will supply the book from our collection or obtain it from another library via interlibrary loan. When we do not hold the book locally, we recommend you use the interlibrary loan services at your nearest public library.

When you request a physical book, we will contact you to confirm your current address. We ship the book to you at no cost. A return mailing label will be enclosed and You are responsible for return postage. Books must be returned by the due date. Renew the title online if you are unsure whether the materials will reach LSU Libraries by the due date.

Note: In-state students may request books through Interlibrary Loan at a LOUIS library. You will be required to show your LOUIS Reciprocal Borrowing Card ("Distance Ed" should be checked) and a picture ID.
